TEAMCE-CERT
is an engineering student team at the University of
California, Riverside (UCR), that engage in
intercollegiate engineering competitions. It takes its name from its
association with the Bourns College of Engineering Center for
Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT
). In the last three years, CE-CERT has employed more than 75
undergraduate student assistants and graduate research assistants, and is
a place in which cooperate work with major industries, small business
groups, regulatory agencies, national laboratories, independent research
associations, and other academic institutions is strongly encouraged.
Participation is not limited to engineering majors, but includes students
from other science disciplines as well. Recognizing the need to improve
air quality and the value of developing and demonstrating the use of
alternative fuels in surface transportation vehicles, TEAMCE-CERT is
pleased to announce our acceptance into the 1998 Ethanol Challenge which
is to convert a gasoline-powered 1997 Chevy Malibu LS to ethanol
fuel.
